75 Soft Challenge

How we are going to tackle 2026

When asking what your thoughts were around resolutions and challenges heading into 2026, Resolutions were a resounding no but what surprised me was, you all enjoyed a Challenge. It’s no secret I LOVE a life challenge, so I have no idea why I was surprised my Bodlings also do!

What ticks my box is something that makes me feel in control of my health whilst sticking by my hard moto of YOLO. It’s a hard balance but I THINK I may have the compromise to see me well in 2026.

The 12th of January will see me embark on the 75 Soft Challenge Programme. Simply, the rules are every day for 75 days:

  • Eat well and incorporate more nutritious foods into my diet, and only drink on social occasions.

  • Intentionally move my body for 45 minutes every day (One workout a week should be active recovery, like yoga, Pilates, or an intentional walk)

  • Drink three litres of water a day. Add electrolytes for added hydration.

  • Read ten pages of any book per day. This can be done in one go, or at various points throughout each day.

75 Soft Challenge risks

It’s always beneficial to approach wellness challenges with a balanced mindset.

Safety first: Ensure that the challenge aligns with your current fitness level and health conditions. It's crucial to prioritise safety and avoid pushing yourself too hard, which could lead to injuries

Sustainability: Look for challenges that promote long-term habits rather than short-term, extreme measures. Building a lasting fitness routine is about consistency and finding activities you enjoy and can incorporate into your lifestyle beyond the challenge period.

Personalisation: Always customise the challenge to suit your needs, preferences, and capabilities. Listen to your body and make adjustments as necessary. No one size fits all.

What I am hoping for…

To build a sustainable routine after letting a lot of my healthier habits fall by the wayside

Help me be more conscious of alcohol consumption (Drinking more ‘just because’ glasses of wine than I used to)

Help me break out of a reading rut I’ve been a voracious reader for as long as I can remember  and since having kids, i opt to fall asleep with them

Tips that I think will support me through the 75days

My workout doesn't have to be gruelling to be effective

Incorporating small habits will be more effective than overhauling my routine overnight

Doing the challenge with Bodlings and friends will hold me accountable

Being part of the 75 Soft Challenge Facebook page to keep me accountable and with a space for us all to ask questions
